Spyderco™ Sharpmaker® Sharpener
Four stones, 12 sides – hundreds of ways to make your life sharper. Each high-alumina ceramic stone's triangular shape lets you hone plain edges on the flat sides and serrated edges with the corners. Includes two medium-girt stones and a pair of fine-grit stones. A channel running the length of each stone sharpens pointed objects like fishhooks. Keyed slots for three pre-set sharpening angles: 30° (15° each side) and 40° (20° each side) for knives, and 12-1/2° for scissors. Use two stones side-by-side like a classic benchstone on large knives. Its lid snaps halfway over the base to form a handhold. Use it dry; requires no oils or lube. Autoclave safe. Includes instructional book and DVD. Made in USA. Available: Medium Fine.
Razor Sharp Edgemaking System
The Razor Sharp Edgemaking System consists of two compressed paper wheels that will fit on any buffer or bench grinder. One wheel is coated with Silicon Carbide and is used to develop a burr or wire-edge along the cutting edge. The included Conditioning Wax (a special formula of fats, oils and waxes) is applied to the grit wheel to lubricate and control heat. The second wheel is slotted and, with the help of the included jewelers rouge, is used to remove burrs and polish the edge. A grit wheel will sharpen a couple hundred knives before it needs recoating. An additional 3oz of Silicon Carbide is provided with the kit, enough to recoat the grit wheel 15 to 20 times. Complete instructions are included in each kit. Wheels are available in 8" or 10" diameters. If you're using a 6" bench grinder you want the 8" Deluxe kit. The reason for this is that in order to sharpen a knife properly, you must have enough clearance between the face of the wheel and the face of the motor housing to accommodate the handle and your fingers. The 10" Magnum kit comes in either 1" or 1 1/4" thickness and we recommend using this kit on an 8" machine.
Smith's 6" Bench Sharpening Stone Kit
Three-layers of monocrystalline diamond ensure these 6" stones will last longer than even your toughest hunting knife. The fast-cutting surface pattern is self-clearing and stays flat so it hones at just the right angle. An innovative continuous diamond Micro Pad is ideal for sharpening small blades and fine-pointed tools. The stone also can be removed from the sturdy non-skid base, and it has a snap-lock lid for storage. These fine and coarse stones sharpen tough steel, carbide and even ceramic blades. The kit includes a coarse and fine sharpening stone.
